One Whole Year...

I can't even believe that it has been a WHOLE year since Lu was born. It absolutely blows me away to look back and see how much she has grown and changed.

One happy mama...

Yep, you guessed it! Summer has arrived. This means I get to spend the next 2 months pretending that I'm a stay at home mom. Lu and I get to spend each and every day hanging out and exploring. I'm ecstatic, to say the least.
A friend of mine passed away a year ago today, her motto in life was, "Be silly. Be happy. Be kind."
So as I reflect on another wonderful school year, I'm feeling fortunate to have a few weeks to take a deep breath, relax and rejuvenate, and work on living a life with a little more silliness, happiness, and kindness.
So here's to you Lindsay!
Cheers!

Catching up!

I have gotten so behind on our blog. But here's a few pics over the past 4 months.
Well our sweet lil' Lu is already 8 months! She brings pure joy and happiness to both Jake and I. She is so much fun these days. She is growing and changing daily. We are so lucky that she gets to spend her days with her grandparents while Jake and I work.
SHE is definitely not lacking LOVE and ATTENTION in her life!

Wrapping up 2010

A wedding, death, and two babies! It's been a busy year to say the least. Jake and I got married on the 16th of January at Sweet Cheeks Winery. My mom's brother passed on the morning of our wedding. Although it was a sad event, it meant that my aunts and uncle from South Dakota made a surprise visit and got to be there for the wedding.

As we were expecting our own little girl, my sister found out she was pregnant and would be due in late December. This was really a dream come true for her and I! Being pregnant at the same time and having babies that will be so close!
On July 6th, Jake and I welcomed our sweet little Lucia Kathryn into the world. She has been such a joy! We enjoy watching her grow and change daily.

My two besties also had baby girls this year. Katie and Bill welcomed Alivia Rose in May. Megan, Adam, and Mia welcomed Elyn Brennan in October.

Sara, Eric, and Abbey welcomed sweet baby Will on December 30th. Our first baby boy!

Time Flies

Luci and I got to spend 4 months together before I had to go back to teaching. We both enjoyed every moment! We spent time with friends and family. Uncle Corey and Aunt Kimi had a tailgate party at the Duck game so we stopped by to see some of our favorite people! We would frequently meet Grandpa Carl for breakfast. We hiked, walked, and ran! We spent a lot of time this fall on the bike path along the river.

Boobies!

Lulu loves boobies!
This October Luci and I ran (well she actually slept) in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. A co-worker at school was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and had to undergo a bilateral mastectomy. So she formed a team for the race, "Wendy's Warriors." I am completely amazed with the amount of love and support that people have shown. I was wanting to help do something to raise money for the cause, when Brandy (head coach) came to me and said, "I ordered the team pink shirts, lets do something to raise money for breast cancer!" That was all the North Eugene Girl's soccer team needed to put their competitive nature in action. The girls went out and in two hours raised over $1,000, and within two days they raised over $2,000 for Wendy's Warriors. With our contribution, Wendy's Warriors raised just over $9,000 for the fight against breast cancer!

Julie and Owen ran with Luci and I! It was sooo wet, but both the kids did great!

Remember that early detection is the best fight against breast cancer!
Don't forget to check your breasts monthly!
