Boobies!

Lulu loves boobies!
This October Luci and I ran (well she actually slept) in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. A co-worker at school was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and had to undergo a bilateral mastectomy. So she formed a team for the race, "Wendy's Warriors." I am completely amazed with the amount of love and support that people have shown. I was wanting to help do something to raise money for the cause, when Brandy (head coach) came to me and said, "I ordered the team pink shirts, lets do something to raise money for breast cancer!" That was all the North Eugene Girl's soccer team needed to put their competitive nature in action. The girls went out and in two hours raised over $1,000, and within two days they raised over $2,000 for Wendy's Warriors. With our contribution, Wendy's Warriors raised just over $9,000 for the fight against breast cancer!

Julie and Owen ran with Luci and I! It was sooo wet, but both the kids did great!

Remember that early detection is the best fight against breast cancer!
Don't forget to check your breasts monthly!

Uncle Aaron Gets Married

We headed over to Bend to spend the weekend with one of Jake's best friends and to be there for his wedding. It was quite the drive over but once we got there we enjoyed every minute of our stay (we love staying in hotels). The weather was absolutely perfect, the people we met were fabulous, and the bed in the hotel was amazing!
Aaron got a pre-wedding day nap in with Lulu.
I'm not sure who needed the nap more! I'm not sure who the snoring was coming from!

I'm not sure how I didn't get any pictures of the bride and groom, but they both looked great. It was a beautiful wedding full of great people. We fell in love with Aaron's family from Pennsylvania and his friends Doug & Kristie. They made us feel right at home.
Lulu and dad did a bit of dancing, and then she decided this party was over.

The next day we headed home, and of course, we had to take the back roads. As much as I complain, I am learning to enjoy the path less traveled thanks to my wilderness guide. We stopped at Dee Wright Observatory. If you've never been there, I highly recommend it. On a clear day you can see mountains in all directions. The scenery was beautiful!

First Camping Trip

All you ever hear when you tell people you are going camping is, "YOU are taking a 2 month old CAMPING?" Well, we ignored all the doubt and we did it! And we had a good time! Julie, Brady and Owen joined us as well which made it even more fun.
Lulu was such a good camper!
We spent a day driving down the coastline and stopping to play at some different spots.
Owen loved the sand! Jules had to stay close to keep it out of his mouth!
We all took turns flying the kite, but Jules was the most fun to watch. It was so windy she was practically getting carried away!

Lulu can't wait to go camping next summer!

Our Lil' Highlander

Well August has come and gone! Soccer is in full swing and Luci has been enjoying her first season. She was such a champ through daily doubles. In fact the weekend before she prepared herself with her first 8 hour night. I like to think it's due to our conversation, "How to prepare for doubles". She's been sleeping through the night since then!
Luci enjoying her first morning of soccer camp.

Jordan and Avery lovin' on Luci! Both of the girls have been so helpful in lending a hand with Luci. They sing her songs, play peek-a-boo, and they've even changed a few diapers.
The best two sisters a girl could ask for!

Jordan is the "official" babysitter!

In the midst of daily doubles I had to get my classroom set up for my substitute to start the year. Luci came with me, which is really a dream come true for me. I've always wanted my kids to help me in my classroom (she helped by sleeping).

This was Luci's first road trip with the team, we headed down to Roseburg. Thankfully, Jake came along to help because it was rainy and cold. She did great! And the team got it's first W!

Jake and I think she's a good luck charm!

Ari is our team manager. She is such an awesome girl and she loves Luci! We call her the "Baby Whisperer".

Luci and I are having so much fun being a part of the team! Coaching is a big part of my life, it makes me incredibly happy that we can both be a part of this FAMILY!

You scream, I scream, we all scream for ice cream!

We had another enjoyable weekend at the Metzger's Cabin. It's always a pleasure to slow down, relax and enjoy the outdoors with good friends. When "The Crew" gets together it's bound to be memorable and full of laughs.

The Boys of Summer

Brady, Owen, Jake, Michael, and Kyle

The dads definitely worked hard and played hard! But it's worth it to nap with their babies!
We have started a new tradition at the cabin... Homemade ice cream!!!
The only rule is...if you don't take a turn "churning" the ice cream you don't get any!
So we all took our turn...

Sometimes we have too much fun! Just because we have kids doesn't mean we have to stop acting like one, right?
We have found our lil' piece of Hawaii right here in Crescent.
Simax Beach!

Close your eyes and imagine...white sand, blue water, sunshine, and good friends. Really, we're just missing the fruity drinks with umbrellas!

The Buschelman Clan enjoying the sun!
Jules and Owen hanging in the sand.
Jake and Luci trying to stay cool!
Luci in her cute swimsuit (promise she was only in the sun long enough to take a picture).

Everyone had a great time whether they were big or small, fishing or napping, eating cheerios or ice cream!

Darci, Micheal and Payton playing in the sand.

Kyle, Payton, and Michael fishing down at the creek.Lil' Lu taking an afternoon snooze (this is one of her many talents these days).
Owen eating his cheerios!
Jules and I licking the ice cream beater clean! It was yummmyy!

AND...we are off to the cabin for another fun weekend (and get a little work done, too!)

Summer Lovin'

Jake, Luci and I had another fun-filled summer weekend!
Saturday we headed up the McKenzie to visit Nana and Papa at Holiday Farm RV Park.

Luci got lots of love from Nana & Papa

Jake and I got to relax and enjoy the warm weather and the outdoors.

Sunday was another wonderful day, it started by Luci and I sleeping in! Then we loaded up the car and headed to meet the Metzgers at Clay Creek to catch some crawdads.

Luci and Owen got to hang out down by the creek.

Owen was very curious about this new little baby. He was so concerned when she would cry, he wouldn't even take a nap.

Luci loved dunken her toes in the water with her dad!
Luci and I hung out in the shade and enjoyed every minute of our afternoon out of the house.
Next weekend we are going to the Metzger's cabin!
We are loving summer!
